WHAT A WHIRLWIND LIFE! As a Brookline Ma native she led the real life of Indiana Jones. She dug up huge dinosaur bones in Utah and silk-wrapped mummies in China. Her extensive academic credentials include Harvard Peabody Museum Associate, Assistant Curator for MOMA, and AHRC Research Fellow at Oxford (UK). She fulfilled her lifelong love of archaeology in scholarship and by authoring many articles. Before she succumbed to an aggressive form of breast cancer she wrote even more and has put some new theories on the "Silk Road" out in a forthcoming book. You felt in her presence that she always did things when she was at her very best and with so much unyielding optimism that she will always be with us. As a devout Orthodox Christian she leaves us in the dust with the best parts of herself in Ianna, Stephen, and Colin. She is survived by her mother Georgiana and her sister Linda. Her funeral is set for TUE Feb 5th at the Holy Nativity Convent in Brookline MA. 617-566-0156. Please donate to them in lieu of flowers. Goodnight Rene, we'll always hold you in our longing hearts.
